FORTUNA, CA – On 04/25/2010 at approximately 1630 hours, an officer with the Fortuna Police Department conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Newburg Road and South Fortuna Boulevard. After maneuvering the vehicle to a stop the driver exited the vehicle and then fled from the scene on foot, running southbound on South Fortuna Boulevard. Officers were able to locate and arrest Austin Edward Nueroth (Age 31) of Eureka in a nearby business lot. Near Nueroth’s person officers located approximately 8 grams of suspected methamphetamine. A search of Nueroth’s vehicle yielded additional items believed to be associated with the sales of methamphetamine.
Nueroth is charged with the suspected possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and a parole violation.
A passenger in the vehicle, Chelsey Lynn Pratt (Age 24) of Eureka, was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.
Both subjects were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where they were booked for the above charges.
